Stand up paddle Lessons
Learn to SUP in Mui Ne
Are you ready for a great new water sport experience? Get an amazing core conditioning workout and have fun at the same time. You don't have to be super fit to give it a try. Much less demanding than regular surfing, stand-up boards are larger than surfing boards which makes them more stable. When you are on the board your body will be in constant motion involving hundreds of small muscles from the soles of your feet into your legs and midsection. These muscles will come alive through the process of balancing and stabilization. You will learn the different strokes you need to turn and make you go. Advance at your own pace, slow and steady, or as fast as you can assimilate the information and learn the techniques. If you are feeling more adventurous, you can learn how to catch some waves!
The 2 hour lesson starts on the beach with a short introduction to the theory of SUP technique and safety, and we practice on the beach some of the skills you will need in the water. Then we begin the water part of the lesson: in the near shore area we practice board handling and power strokes until you get comfortable with the basics of balancing and steering. You will love this fun activity.
During SUP Lessons you will learn:
• The basics of SUP'ing on the sea: understanding safety, all about waves, currents and tides.
• How to stand up and balance on the board.
• Paddling strokes & techniques.
• How to control board direction.
• Basic paddle turning for wave riding.
There is much to learn, and we can cover more advanced skills for those students who have already completed one of our beginner SUP lessons or have previous experience. We work on the skills you want appropriate to your level. Learn how to catch waves and ride them using advanced paddle board techniques, different stances, and weight distribution skills. At the advance levels we are working on timing and turning.
We are happy to rent SUP equipment to experienced SUP-surfers, and anyone who has completed one of our stand up paddle lessons.
